Scott G. Morrison
Scott G. Morrison is an accomplished attorney with over 20 years of broad legal experience. Scott’s exposure in several areas of civil litigation and transactional matters enables him to identify relevant legal factors in a variety of situations and recommend the appropriate legal action or response.
Over the years, Scott has elected to emphasize his practice on helping clients get organized and control their legal lives. This includes emphasizing legal services on matters related to estate planning, business planning, formation and transactions, dispute resolution, probate and trust administrations.
Scott is experienced in creating both basic and sophisticated estate plans which may include family business succession and estate tax reduction strategies. Scott has advised many clients in trust administrations, probates and court proceedings. He is proud of his ability to efficiently and with sensitivity to resolve the many issues that arise when a passing has occurred. Scott’s experience in this regard include, but are not limited to, all aspects of initiating and completing the Trust and Probate administrations including resolving disputes between family members, the sale of assets and the preparation of estate tax returns and fiduciary income tax returns.
Scott has assisted hundreds of clients with their business entity formations and management, (Corporations, LLCs & Partnerships). This includes helping clients select the appropriate Business structure after analyzing the business purpose and projected income, income and property tax considetions. Clients with existing businesses also meet with Scott for assistance in drafting new or improved contracts and negotiating contract terms. When times have been difficult, numerous clients have trusted Scott with representing their interest in efforts to reach resolutions both before and after litigation is/was commenced.
Scott is an active member of the California State Bar Association and the San Diego County Bar Association. Scott is admitted to practice law in all California State Courts and Administrative Agencies, the U.S. Federal District Courts Southern and Central, and the United States Tax Court.
Scott resides in San Diego, where he enjoys numerous outdoor activities. Scott is an avid traveler, and has visited over 20 countries spanning Central and South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia and places in between. He is married with 3 sons and cherishes spending time with his family.
